ZITiS is the hub for information technology in the security sector of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Internal Affairs (IMC) of Germany. It presented in February 2022 the UNCOVER project to Europol’s Innovation Lab. The „Innovation Laboratory“ should build on existing departments within Europol. Its areas of responsibility include the police handling of anonymization and encryption on the Internet and the Darknet.

ZITiS is involved in six of the nine work packages and significantly contributes to research in the field of web analytics as part of the project.
